Written Instructions

What does a Floor Sensor Error look like on my thermostat?

If you have a Floor Sensor Error on your thermostat, the sensor temperature under the day and time will read as “–°” instead of an actual temperature value. Under this, there will be text that reads “Floor sensor error!”

What is causing the Floor Sensor Error on my thermostat?

A Floor Sensor Error occurs when the thermostat does not detect the sensor.

This can be caused by:

  • The sensor probe not being connected to the thermostat.
  • The sensor probe being connected to the wrong terminals in the thermostat.
  • The sensor probe being damaged.

How do I resolve a Floor Sensor Error on my thermostat?

There are 2 ways to resolve a Floor Sensor Error.

First, you can change the thermostat’s Sensor Application from Floor to Room. This will bypass the installed floor sensor and, instead, the thermostat will operate off of the internal air sensor.

Or, you can have a qualified electrician test and re-wire the floor sensor to the thermostat.
